About the Portrayal.
This is an independent portrayal of Vulpes Inculta from Fallout: New Vegas.
This is an AU where he is a trans male. When Vulpes' tribe was taken over he was going to be a slave along with the other women in his tribe. He had been taken notice of by Joshua Graham when brought to him for punishment when he bit off a guard's fingers. The then legate saw potential in him and had him train with the other boys in the Legion.

Trigger warnings for mentions of sexual abuse, internalized transphobia/homophobia, unhealthy relationship dynamics/Electra complexes, and canon typical Legion violence. Headcanons.
Despite being an expert at blending in and wrapping people around his finger he is absolutely abysmal at building genuine connections with people and understanding their feelings.
He began his transition at Old Mormon Fort with Arcade Gannon. A slip up ruined a potential genuine friendship. It's why Arcade recognizes him at the Strip.
He is a Pagan witch, believing in old Roman gods and using their gifts to aid him. He believes it is because of these gifts and certain spells that wasteland creatures do not harm him.
He has developed an Electra Complex on both Caesar and Joshua. They had both raised him but with the Legion focusing on sex and violence, and not developing meaningful relationships the line of appropriate relationships was blurred for Vulpes.
The coyote he wears on his head was a commemorative gift from his hunt as a youth. Hunting on your own was seen as a rite of passage at a young age.
